I usually make a point of keeping an eye on the moon, but I lost it. In recent weeks I slipped out of the tempo of it and the world swept me up in its claws. Google calendar is my timekeeper and the moon is a foot in the old ways and the pulse of nature. It shocked me when, in mock drama, the students and I turned the pages of the stargazers almanac that hangs by my classroom door; I had missed a moon. The Hare moon had skipped past me and left me. At least now I know it is slowly crawling back.
